This program is for skilled trades positions and requires minimum test scores on reading, writing, listening and speaking for English or French, two years of work in the appropriate job or trade that has been within the last five years, meet the requirements for that job within Canada, and have a certification of qualification or a valid job offer that is to last a year or more. Trades that are included in the skilled trades program include industrial, electrical, construction maintenance and equipment operation, supervisor in natural resources or agriculture, processes, manufacturing, chefs and cooks, or butchers and bakers. You must be able to prove you meet all the skills required at the time of application. You must also be legally admissible to Canada with no criminal background or record of criminal activity and be able to provide for yourself and your immediate family upon entry to Canada, or have a valid and active job offer from a Canadian business.
